Week 1 Update: The puppies are all nursing great and gaining weight. Pictures went well this week. They were all so cooperative and sat well for their photos. Eyes are still closed. Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) started at 3 days old. They all seem to be doing well with ENS and have been very calm.
Week 2 Update: The puppies eyes are open! They are really starting to move around now. They are now getting out of the small whelping area so they were transitioned to the large whelping box which has artificial turf so they can begin potty training. They all got their first set of dewormer and all did well receiving it. Sometimes they don't care for it so it can be a challenge. Choosing your puppy begins now. I will contact you when it is your turn to choose.
Week 3 Update: Puppies are doing well in the large whelping box. They are learning to get up and go to the bathroom on the artificial turf. Today they all got a bath, bottom trimmed and nails trimmed. They did very well with the bath and did extremely well with the blow dryer. Sound desensitizing is definitely paying off. They have transitioned from crawling to walking on all four now. They are a bit wobbly but they all can walk now.
Week 4 Update: Puppies have found their voices. They are starting to bark at each other and have really began to play with each other. Their teeth are starting to come in so they were introduced to solid food. They are still nursing but now have 3 servings of puppy food each day. Potty training is going well. They are getting pretty good about getting up to go to the bathroom on the artificial turf. Today they received their 4 week dose of Pyrantel. Cupid is now available. Fun fact….he appears to have one blue eye!
Week 5 Update: This week the puppies transitioned to the kennel in the garage. They now have access to the potty door to go outside. Today I helped them all use the door a couple times just to get them acquainted withe the door. Hopefully this weekend I will be able to get them to use it a little more so they start to go outside on their own. Today they all had a bath and blow dry before pictures. They did extremely well and were so laid back. Could not ask for a better temperament. Don't forget to order your NuVet supplements if you have not already done so.
Week 6 Update: Puppies have been doing great with potty training outside. Since last week they have pooped outside everyday. They are getting much better at urinating outside too. Today they had the first of three consecutive day doses of the dewormer Fenbendazole. Today they all had a bath again and did very well again. There are still 5 puppies available looking for their forever home.
Week 7 Update: Puppies had a busy day today. They all received their 7 week vaccination and had temperament testing done today. Also they all got a bath before their pictures were taken. They are all very social and love playing with visitors. Every night I go in the kennel with the puppies and they all love to climb on my lap and try to cuddle, lick me or nip at my shorts/shirt. The first few minutes are usually correcting the nipping but then they settle down and snuggle. Next week is pick up day for those that have found their forever home. Be sure to order your NuVet supplement if you have not done so. website link is https://www.nuvetlabs.com/order_new2/products.asp and the code is 118818.
Week 8 Update: It is pick-up time for the puppies adopted! All the puppies are doing great. They are now going to the bathroom outside for everything. The inside artificial turf has been removed and there have been no accidents. Three consecutive days of the Fenbendazole dewormer was started for the puppies that are still available. All the puppies are so friendly and love to play with each other and of course anybody that goes by them. Ellie will now retire. Congratulations Ellie!
Week 11 Update: Prancer and Blitzen are still available. Potty training is going extremely well for both. Prancer is now living in her foster home and will continue with socializing and training until he is adopted. Blitzen is staying with me for ongoing socializing and training. Both puppies have received their next set of vaccines, up to date on deworming and the extra vaccines for Lyme and Bordetella.
